"REASON TO PRAISE GOD | Luke 1:46-55 |Praise and Thanksgiving

Luke 1:46–55 “And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 because he has looked with favor on the humble condition of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed, 49 because the Mighty One has done great things for me, and his name is holy. 50 His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him. 51 He has done a mighty deed with his arm; he has scattered the proud because of the thoughts of their hearts; 52 he has toppled the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly. 53 He has satisfied the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy 55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he spoke to our ancestors.”

Introduction:

The period between Advent- anticipation and preparation- leading to Christmas, the arrival of Jesus Christ may have been the most difficult season. Elizabeth and Zechariah are anticipation the arrival of a long awaited baby boy to name(John) in the town of Judean town.

Six months later, God again sent a message to a town in Galilee called Nazareth. A place of no important to an unknown girl. In our context: She have no social media present, no following or likes. Just a regular village girl in her late teens. I don’t think she ever thought of her to a special.

How about You?

How do you think about yourself? Maybe you don't think much about your life how much value you have in the sight if God, but Mary story tells us that God know your and places high value on you. if people don’t recognize you God recognize you and even know your address.

Do you have reason to praise

Mary source of praise God- this young girl is singing praise to God because of her personal relationship with the Lord. Mary said from now on all generations will call me blessed.

You are also call blessed from generation to generations. - Luke 11:27–28 “27 As he was saying these things, a woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the one who nursed you!” 28 He said, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”

Everyone on the sound of my voice have a reason like Mary to praise God and sing songs of praise to Him because to be call the children of God.

Mary says that God has looked with favor on the humble condition of his servant.- God turn His eyes upon a nobody to experience God’s grace.

You too have a reason to praise God because God has look with favor, unmerited grace upon your life.

Luke 8:20-21 He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

21 But he replied to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear and do the word of

God.”

SALVATION

salvation in Jesus Christ is a pretty good reason to rejoices and praise God. (However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you,bi but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”- Luke 10:20)

CENTER OF PRAISE

Humility

- Received the Word of God with surrender. I am a the Lord servant

Trust God

- Mary simple believed the Word of God. She said “May it happen to me as you have said.” We can also believe what God has spoken concerning your life it will happen to us just as HE has said. God will remember his promise to you.

Obedience - every though Mary did not know all the details when, and how this young girl trusted and obey God. It’s all in the doing the word of God.
